ABOUT GEEKDOM COME...
Is this your first time here? Don't worry. I'm more than happy to guide you through this webcomic. First, allow me to properly introduce myself. Call me Rikun. I run the show around here.
The purpose of this webcomic? None really. I"m just here to make you laugh. And what's with the title you ask? Originally I wanted to make a comic that basically made fun of all the behind the scenes stuff that happens in anime. Bad dubbing, overblown editing, all that kind of stuff. HOWEVER, I realized later on that a webcomic based on anime alone was NOT the best of strategies, so I broadened my horizons. I've always had a thing for several types of other entertainment and I've always loved making fun of all the stuff that the general American public eats up. Then...it hit me. And now, this is the result.
Geekdom Come is about a certain team of geeks (myself included) who send a harsh dose of underground reality to the mainstream. Anime dubbers try to dumb down series to make a buck? We'll be there. Another crappy reality TV show invading our shores? We'll be there. An all out geekfest comes here? You better believe we'll be there. My team is here to represent those who consider themselves underground, or at the very least can't stand the stuff that the mainstream public is dishing out.
Think of this comic as Revenge of the Nerds mixed in with some manga style insanity. We'll be making obscure Power Rangers references, poking fun at ubergeeks, throwing more anime at you than you can shake a Pocky stick at, etc.
So forget everything that the mainstream media has told you is cool. Drop the trends, shut off MTV, and toss all that OC crap out the window. You're now in a world where the geeks reign supreme.
